i learned so much throughout this process that i was able to act as the general contractor for my basement renovation which followed about a year later. of course, van was once again at my side throughout this process as well.
i don't have any more renovations to do on my house now, but if i did, van would be the first call that i made.

As we interviewed contractors he helped guide them and push them for detailed pricing and then helped us negotiate a fair price. This was central to the success of the project. From start to finish of the demolition and build-out he was readily available for inspections, comments, changes that made sense (balancing costs) and overseeing when asked the contractor’s work.
Upon completion, his assistance with the walk through before we moved back into the home was critical to our unblemished satisfaction with the contractor’s work (though substantially delayed through no fault of Van’s).
We wholeheartedly encourage anyone in the Washington area to inquire about Van’s services. I cannot think of another family that is as pleased with their choice of architects as we were with Van.
