Blackstone designed and installed our new kitchen in 2019, and did a great job, and kept in almost daily communication during the five weeks it took to finish up the work ahead of time. So we went with them when we decided to design and install new bathrooms, as well as to take care of few other things, including a laundry closet door, a kitchen pantry closet, and a doorway. This project experience did not go nearly as well as the first project experience. Overall, the quality of the work done was very good, with the exception of a new bathroom fan that was vented to the attic, which our roofing guy said was not good, and then vented out the roof as it should have been. But, as it turned, the design to which we agreed and the contract that we signed on December 1st, 2022, left a number of things not written down and/or undecided, so we had to go back to the showroom in February to try and make decisions on some, but, unfortunately, not all of the things that needed to be decided, such that we had to spend a lot of time during the contract period having to look through electronic listings of all sorts of things that one needs in a bathroom and making selections in this regard, including difficulty in making decisions with electronic information and making mistaken selections. Then, just as the work began, my wife fell and broke her hip and had surgery and ended up in a rehab facility for six weeks, which made her involvement in making these decisions difficult at best, And then the boss, who had done the design work and filled out the original contract, was off to Florida, where he was working on the start-up of a new store, so he wasn't around like on the kitchen contract to consult. Finally, the fellow the boss assigned to oversee the bathroom project proved not to be as regular and thorough a communicator as the fellow we had for the kitchen contract. All of these factors, plus a few more (e.g., logistics problems, unexpected water damage in one of the bathrooms, etc.) resulted in a bevy of problems in communications and delays in getting the work done, and, then, once the work was done, a bit of a disagreement about just how much additional should be added to the original contract amount. Like I said, the work done was, for the most part, done well, but it took a lot of time and effort and energy to get to completion. And, as the work started on 3/7/23 and was completed on 6/13/23, it took about twice as long to complete the project as originally anticipated. In sum, it was an uncomfortable and unsatisfying contract experience, such that I cannot recommend Blackstone to others anymore.
