They are more responsive to tenants, because the same technical support people interact directly with tenants when they call. Don't get quality or low-cost contractors for repairs necessarily, but at least the work gets started quickly. Their problem is that they often leave checking the work to their already overworked agent colleagues or wait for tenant complaints instead of checking the work themselves. The agents (I had three) invariably dropped the ball on that, and did not even telephone the tenant to check.
