Replaced GE stove with GE glasstop stove. Store staff was helpful and price was good with an additional $50 off for opening a store account. Additional cost for removal of old stove. Installation was fast and easy even when I requested that the appliance height be changed after the original delivery, they returned with no charge. Overall satisfied with the process and price.

Bought a washer and dryer. Good prices. Delivery/installation crew arrived on schedule and did a good job.

Purchased a high efficiency washing machine in May.
Sales transaction was easy and smooth. The sales person and Appliance Department Manager were helpful and responsive.
Those were the good aspects.
Now for the less satisfying and frustrating aspects of purchasing durable appliances.
There ends up being too many layers of responsibility and less emphasis on accountability.
Home Depot's role is basically, make the sale.
All appliances are handled by a warehouse operated by GE. So if there is a problem, Home Depot has little to no responsibility. GE warehouse assumes responsibility of damage along with the Delivery service. Of course the Delivery is done by a third party contractor. You have 3 layers to deal with each with limited roles and responsibilities. Note, Home Depot does not have(own or control) a warehouse of appliances. The warehouse is owned by GE. Hint, another layer. This GE warehouse handles ALL the brands, LG, GE, Maytag, Whirlpool, etc. In my case, it took three attempt to get delivered a washing machine that was not damaged. I send the damaged washers back. Each time you send an appliance back it takes at lease a week to get a new one and get on the delivery schedule. So we waited at least three weeks without a washer. Do Inspect appliance before delivery truck leaves; once you sign for it, the appliance is yours. Next time, I will look for a retailer that has more control over the process end to end.
