This is an evaluation for a superior rating for Joe Marshall for roofing assistance he provided to us on two occasions over the last two years. ==>Date: 11-2-2024 Joe Marshall replaced a loose shingle that had blown off the back of our roof during a very strong windstorm earlier. He was prompt at coming to our place, and the shingle is still firmly in place & in good condition. ==>Approximate date of work: late Fall of 2023 with an affidavit from Joe Marshall of our roof being in good condition provided to our homeowner’s insurance company on 11-4-2023. Background. An honest employee from our homeowner’s insurance company told me that our roof had suddenly been rated as being in “poor” condition from “good” condition the previous year, with a subsequent increase in our insurance for 2023 of more than $1,000. The insurance company is now using satellite imagery to look at photos of our roof (& all other people’s roofs) & believed the discoloration on our roof indicated the roof is getting in bad shape. We first called Studs with Suds--please look at my superior review of this company as well. They used special cleaning agents with a pressure washer to remove all the fungus that had grown over most of our roof shingles over the years. The fungus originated from Florida and when airborne, traveled north along the entire east coast. It grows on roofs, street signs, etcetera, and is a dark gray to black color. Newer roof shingles now have copper to prevent the growth of this fungus (Joe Marshall showed us these new shingles), but our roof was installed several years before the use of copper in the shingles. Joe Marshall next came to our place & reviewed the house roof. He determined that it was in good condition, since Studs with Suds had totally cleaned off the unsightly fungus. He determined that our shed roof, that is older than the main house roof did need replacing & his employees were very efficient & effective in installing a similar color roof to our house on the shed, with a ridge vent to extend the life of the shed roof. Mr. Marshall then wrote a letter to our insurance company with his expert opinion on the affidavit, that our roof is in good condition. The insurance company accepted Mr. Marshall’s analysis and reduced our homeowner’s insurance by about $1,000 per year. Mr. Marshall is my go-to guy for roofing now. Also, I highly recommend the young man from Studs with Suds. If you search on this name at the Consumers' Checkbook screen on the top right, you will find the contact information for this company. I have seen the Studs with Suds truck driving around our neighborhood, so other neighbors thankfully are using this service also..

I have wanted to rate and recommend Marshalls Roofing for awhile, but for a number of reasons I have been unable to do so until now. They repaired a roof leak back in August 2024 when we had a number of torrential rainstorms. They did an excellent job exceeding my expectations and I would highly recommend them.
