On August 23, 2022, an invoice was agreed upon to travel to my apartment twice and replace a 12 foot traverse rod for $600.00. I left a deposit of $300.00. However, the rod was repaired in a short period of time – maybe 30 minutes – an occurrence not originally envisioned, and which negated 95 percent of the agreed labor and material in the invoice. The owner called afterward and wanted an additional $95.00 for this service. He said that he had to make a profit! The shop is located 1.6 miles from my apartment. He kept the $300 deposit and demanded an additional $95, with no written invoice to correct the adjustment to the original agreement. I feel that the amount requested is absolutely unreasonable and requested a refund. None came.
