Very disappointed. A promised four month project took nearly a year. Will need to hire another contractor to provide finishing work. Could not recommend.

I used DMV to create a powder room (half-bath) in my basement. Javier came to the house, reviewed the drawings (from a designer I hired earlier), took photos, and sent me a quote for the job. I reviewed several bids from various companies, some highly rated here. DMV was the second lowest bid, and after speaking to a few references who gave them glowing recommendations, I hired them. The foreman was Jose-Luis, who did an excellent job. He did the electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. I used Build.com, that Javier recommended, to purchase most of the powder room supplies and accessories; for example, the flooring, light fixture, and mirror. Build.com has a wide variety of supplies and I was able to find almost everyting I wanted from that web site. I selected a large mirror, larger than usual for a powder room, but Jose-Luis made everything fit and it all looks great! The only part of the work I did myself was arranging the marble patterned floor tiles so the arrangement looked appealing, and Jose-Luis installed the tiles exactly as I had arranged them. Javier also managed all the inspections from WSSC and Montgomery County, sending David to meet the inspectors when they came to the house. The worst part of the renovation was the noise from initial floor jackhammering to create space for the plumbing, but that can't be helped. All the DMV staff were polite and professional. Javier kept me updated througout the process. The contract was in user-friendly language and if I had questions or saw anything needing correcting, I would go over it with Javier and he was happy to answer all my questions and make any necessary corrections. In addition, we had repair work in other bathrooms, so Javier and I went over that work as well, and amended the contract to reflect the new work. If anyone does any kind of major renovations I would suggest that you make sure you get all the stuff you might need out of the way beforehand, and remember where you put things, because the amount of materials and supplies they bring to the house will take up a lot of room and you will lose easy access to your stuff when it's all covered in plastic. DMV covered all of our stuff in plastic to keep the dust away, and covered the floors as well. They cleaned up their trash. I highly recommend them.
