D G Glass broke my windshield heater wire and stained my interior liner during the installation of a new windshield on our 2022 Toyota SUV. The day after D G Glass installed our windshield we brought the car to our Toyota dealer to have the anti-collision warning system recalibrated (required). Before starting any work they scan the system with a scan tool which showed a fault with the windshield heater. The dealer removed cover to the heater module and found the power wire "ripped" apart, which they stated could only have done during an installation. When I called DG Glass's owner to resolve the issue I was met with instant hostility and was told that: "he never made mistakes," Toyota Technicians are incompetent" (he also disparaged a particular Toyota Dealer that was not mine. This was odd as I never mentioned which dealer my car was at), and he stated "he would not pay for any damage." He made some other childish assertions I will not bother with in this review. I advised him that if that was his attitude I would dispute the charge with American Express as my dealership was willing to put in writing that the damage was do to a faulty installation and there was no way he would prevail. He said doing that was "gaming the system" as if my refusal to deal with his immaturity was unfair. His attitude quickly changed and he "strongly insisted" to see the damage. I noted that I was not going to inconvenience myself or the dealer for him but would see what I could do. The dealer graciously offered a 3 hour window to him to see the damage (this was despite me providing him detailed pictures taken by the Shop Foreman with an explanation of their process). After viewing the damage in person he agreed to pay for a new part, but had the nerve to request the dealer discount the labor. D G Glass likes to brag that they are the preferred provider for 2 Northern VA European auto dealerships, but that is no excuse for the incredibly inferior customer service I received after they damaged my vehicle. They are fine if there is not an issue, but will not stand behind there work when it is sub-standard or they cause damage. Would NOT recommend.
