After my primary physician opened up a boutique practice that no longer accepted Medicare and other health insurance, I switched to Dr. Watkins. I had my annual physical with Dr. Watkins where my weight, height and blood pressure were taken along with family and medical history and prescriptions. Lab tests were ordered (A1C, lipid panel, CMP, CBC, PSA). I take Benicar HCT for control of high blood pressure. Several weeks before I ran out of the medication, I sent a message through the Johns Hopkins portal to Dr. Watkins requesting refills. There was no response to my online or telephone request for a prescription refill from Dr. Watkins or his Physican's Assistant. I finally called and spoke to his PA begging to get a refill for I was down to a few pills and that is how I finally got the prescription refill. Early in 2019, I made a request through the Johns Hopkins portal for anti-malarial (Atovaquone/Proguanil), the antibiotic Azithromycin to treat traveler's diarrhea, and Zolpidem as a sleep aid on long flights for an upcoming trip to NE India. Dr. Watkins' PA indicated I needed to make an appointment to see Dr. Watkins. My previous primary doctors submitted travel prescriptions to the pharmacy without having to make an appointment. Upon arrival at Dr. Watkins' office, I waited for 2-1/2 hours to see him and watched as patients who arrived after me were forwarded to the exam room. I finally saw Dr. Watkins who submitted the three prescriptions to the pharmacy. Then I dropped Dr. Watkins as primary physician.

My previous primary doctor, Dr. Jesse Sadikman, M.D., of Rockville, MD, opened a boutique practice so I had to find a new primary physician. I decided on Dr. Bradley Watkins of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians based on ratings in Washington Checkbook, Washingtonian Magazine, and other sources. I was also looking for a doctor affiliated with Sibley and Suburban Hospitals, part of Johns Hopkins Medicine. I had my annual physical in Dec. 2018. Blood samples were taken in the office and within a day or two the results were posted on the patient portal, Johns Hopkins MyChart. The staff and Dr. Watkins recorded my medical history and based on that made a recommendation for a Tdap vaccine, which I received a few days later at Walgreens, Rockville, MD. Any incorrect or missing information on MyChart was corrected by the staff within a day or two notification through MyChart. Dr. Watkins referred me to a dermatologist to treat a rash whom I saw a short time later. Very impressed with the quality of care, competence and helpful advice given by Dr. Watkins and staff. All the lab work and visitation costs were covered by Medicare and my AARP Medicare Supplement Plan F.
