As a Kaiser Doctor, the protocol appears to be to delay any treatment if at all possible in hopes the condition will go away. Then a most minimal recommendation is made during a fifteen minute appointment at least seven minutes of which are spent looking at your medical records. The response usually involves a short term medical prescription. Any more elaborate response to a worsening condition happens only after weeks or months of waiting, clear lab tests that back up your statement of your symptoms, and repeated requests for help. This is for profit medicine by a massive bureaucracy that treats patients as if they were unsatisfactory cogs in a machine that must be treated according to a cost/benefit analysis rather than need. They have elaborate protocols and poorly created online systems for every step of this process, many of which are absolutely opaque and dysfunctional. This is the art of medicine as a for profit bureaucracy.

A doctor who listens first, and then provides advice. Great bedside manner.
