I had an appointment for an estimator to come to my home. Company policy estimator looks at satellite photos then comes to the house. Estimator did not want to come to my home wanted to give me an estimate based on photos. He was defensive when I asked him to explain certain things -- I do not speak deck language. He the hung up on me.

make sure to pack your patience if you go with Deck Helmet. They are significantly cheaper than Deck Wizard, however, their customer service is very lacking. Make sure you get the name and direct cell phone # of who you sign up with - in my case Richard 301 337 5140. I had to call him multiple times to correct what the workers were doing - or more correctly not doing. They left the old wood on my lawn for days and the new boards in the driveway - blocking the garage - for days. they then charged the final amount to my card before they finished. They said they'd work from sun up to sun down on Sat and Sun to finish it as promised, but when the workers left on Friday they said they'd be back on Monday - another call to Richard. make sure you do a very good walk through before releasing them.
