Relatively newer company with high price, hard sell tactics & not offering the best product for the price but with impressive resume. In May 2023, I requested an estimate to inspect 2 fireplaces at one home in Bethesda, Maryland. Zach arrived with assistants. They charged me $204.97 for the camera inspection ($199+3% fee) & recommended relining both fireplaces. I was impressed with their detailed reports & estimates. Zach promoted the company by stating they updated all fireplaces at the residences of the US Vice-President & Canadian Ambassador. Zach estimated a price of $16,000 to reline both fireplaces with 11" diameter liners. When I asked for a discount, he said he couldn't do much. Zach & Bethesda Chimney followed up with emails & calls. When I mentioned I was waiting for 2 more estimates, he said he could drop the price to $12,000 if I agreed to sign the contract that same day. A significant drop from the initial $16k offer. That turned me off since he initially refused me any discount. My other two estimates were $12,000 & $10,000 where the owners also worked at the site. It seems that Zach & owner dont actually do the actual work. I got the work done with another company rated almost 100% on checkbook & that also provided a 12" diameter liner rather than the 11" offered by Bethesda Chimney. Bethesda Chimney was not for me but they do seem to have an impressive resume & may be an ok company for those who don't have time to shop around.
