We bought a GE dishwasher for $860.00 in March of 2021 at Home Depot. The upper spray head flew off the first time we used it. We put it back on; it flew off again, then we called. A representative came by, said it needed a part and repair, and suggested we call the 800 number. The call center was courteous but completely worthless. They never ordered the part, never sent the promised repairman, and never called back. If my husband had not be inventive and clever, we would have no dishwasher.

We ordered an LG Washer-Dryer combination from Home Depot's website on March 5th. The LG Front loading washer Model WT7300CW with serial number SN 002TNJJ0V988 was delivered and installed on March 13 as scheduled. The delivery company Forward Air hooked up the washer but forgot to leave the $59 dryer vent kit. When the dryer installer ProHome Improvement arrived, they sold me a kit for $75 so that they could complete the installation. I called Home Depot and eventually negotiated reimbursement for the $75 kit. The first problem is when the washing machine starts to fill with water, there is a series of loud "thunks" that reverberate in the water pipes throughout my house. Our previous washer did not have this problem. There is no error code on the LG washer. My concern is that over time the repeated stress on the water pipes will cause a pipe break and significant water damage. The second problem is that these front-loading devices were installed so that their doors open toward each other, rather than outward (i.e. away from each other). The open doors create a barrier between the machines. Thus moving heavy wet laundry from washer to dryer requires lifting the laundry over this barrier of doors or dropping the laundry down into a basket, moving the basket under the doors, and then lifting the laundry up into the dryer. This not an easy task for seniors such as ourselves. I called ProHome first on March 20th but they pointed out that they did not install the washer and would not be the appropriate party to address the "thunking problem." On March 23rd I called Forward Air and they said they would schedule a plumber, which it turns out was Pro Home Improvement. When ProHome called on March 25th, they understood the issue to be a dryer installation so I had to repeat the description of my two concerns. Rather than have ProHome make a service call which I would have to pay for, ProHome recommended I contact LG or Home Depot . On March 26th I called Home Depot's 800 number and was treated curtly and put on interminable hold. Frustrated I hung up, calmed down for a day, and then on March 27th I contacted LG online chat who said that they would schedule a service call via email. On April 1 Pro Home called to schedule a dryer installation. I explained that the dryer was installed and that I asked for a plumber to assess the two problems above. Pro Home said because they did not install the washer they would not look at any installation problems with it. Instead he said I should contact the firm that installed the washer. So I called Forward Air who scheduled a visit for April 2. The Forward Air person called about a washer installation; when he arrived he verified the balance and stability of the washer but said that this was as far as he could go. Adjustments to the washer's operation would require a technician. On April 23 Forward Final Mile called to inform me of washer dryer installation for Friday April 24. I replied that they had already installed the washer/dryer and that the process was unpleasant and that they had made the dryer installation unnecessarily complicated and expensive. On April 16 Pro Home Improvement called to install the dryer previously installed. I will note that the washer/dryer purchase does not appear under my account with Home Depot's website, even though I was logged in when I made the purchase.
