It's a good thing I didn't hire Choice to do my work because they did a HORRIBLE job on the common sidewalk in front of my home. For whatever reason, after the newly poured sidewalk had begun curing, they shoveled out a portion of the partially dried cement and replaced it with more partially dried cement. The result was a bumpy mess with concrete mini-chunks sticking up, potentially causing someone to trip over it. But the bad quality doesn't stop there. The border/edging of the sidewalk looks like it had been combed with a rake instead of smoothed out, and it also contains dried chunks of concrete on the vertical side that meets the parking lot. Add to that, the eight concrete blocks in a row that Choice replaced on our street are all different colors, ranging from light gray, to white, to brown (probably dirt mixed in). While Choice was replacing these blocks in front of our home, I asked them to be as careful as possible to preserve our newly seeded lawn. At one point they had our lawn rolled back out of the way for their work, and they said they would unroll it when they were done. Instead, they trampled on it, and poured sand (not top soil) over at least a foot of our adjacent lawn, and then threw some grass seed (probably weed seed) over it. I didn't think it could get any worse. Then Roy came back and poured red clay and rocks over the sand and seed--and over even more of our newly seeded lawn. He obtained the clay and rocks from a deep hole the utility workers had dug that day on our street. I asked Roy why he came back onto our property to destroy more of our lawn and he said he thought the rain had washed some of the seed away. Did he commit the last assault to our lawn because we didn't hire him to redo our walk/stoop? I had planned to dig out the clay and rocks the following day, but unfortunately there was a downpour that evening, which caused the clay to cement down even more of our lawn. It took hours to dig the clay and rocks out, and we were forced to hose the rest out into our parking lot--now also a mess. Stay away from Choice. Our HOA probably hired them because they were the cheapest. They got what they paid for, and some of us suffered additional consequences.
