Knollwood is a military retirement community located in Washington, DC but very close to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Both parents were at Knollwood. Our mother passed 3 years ago. Our father has been there for 4.5 years. The facility is very clean. The staff very helpful. With any nursing home, your parent's care is related to the involvement of the adult children. If the parents are warehoused, then you do not know what is happening. In our case, my brothers and sisters have been involved and the care has been outstanding.
