Completely dishonest, incompetent, and opportunistic, beginning to end. Wound up completing the refinance with them despite all these problems because it took me a little while to realize how bad they were. In that time, rates were rising at other banks, but I had a rate lock with them. But I can't even list all the ways they lied and took advantage and screwed things up for me. One notable one is that they sent a payoff request to another bank where I had a line of credit when I clearly told them I was going to keep that other account open but pay it down with funds from the refinance. It turns out neither the guy I was dealing with nor his supervisor understood the difference between paying something down and formally paying it off which automatically closes the account. I had to explain the difference to them. The other bank couldn't subsequently undo this for me because they had already processed the request that I never wanted First Internet Bank to submit. Also, FIB did bait and switch with me many times, about the initial rate, about the terms, about everything. But once I started with them, it would have cost me more in the end to switch elsewhere. They know that and take advantage of it.
