I have tried numerous veterinary hospitals in the area. 20 years ago I went to Summit Veterinary then they got very expensive. Then I went to Los Gatos Dog and Cat, they got too expensive, Banfield, not impressed. I found Pet's Friend through Yelp and I am SO glad I did!! Dr Davidson in particular is amazing. I have been going to Pet's Friend for over 7 years now. Dr Foote is new, but very kind. I am super grateful for Dr Davidson, especially- she is amazing. She's highly knowledgeable. She really knows her stuff, she has taken amazing care of each pet I have brought to her. I had a rescue Chihuahua , saved from the SJ Animal Shelter, and she needed a dental. For her dental, my sweet little Chi needed over half the teeth in her mouth extracted it was so bad. It was going to be a 7 hour surgery. I was scared because there is a huge risk of a dog or cat dying during the procedure because of the sedatives they use. One of my neighbors says it had happened to her at Arroyo animal clinic, her previous dog had died under anesthesia there. I did not want that to happen. Most veterinary hospitals apparently give the animal a sedative to knock them out then they only check in on the breathing and heart rate every 2 minutes. Pet's Friend has a decaded anesthesiologist, just like with a regular human hospital. They monitor your pet's vitals at all times so if anything happens they can fix it right away and you can have your beloved fuzzy family member back safely and alive. To me that is worth a great deal. Dr Davidson is a true animal lover herself, and you can just by looking at her if she's a kind human being. I'm super grateful for her care. I have had good financial times and bad. When I've had hard financial times, she has bent over backwards to help me save money while still getting excellent care for my pets, who I consider to be my family members. I cannot say enough good things about Pet's Friend. Highly recommend. Also, as far as price, people on this site saying it's 50% higher than other vets in this area are obviously not looking at other clinics. Pet's Friend was the most reasonable of everybody when I called around. Sure, they are not cheap, but no veterinarian in the Bay Area is. None that are good at any rate. Or, you can certainly go to the Humane Society but then you're going to wait for a month and a half. So, in short, Pet's Friend is wonderful, I highly recommend them.

Prices are exorbitant and communication style (text, email, phone messages to schedule an appt) are excessive and annoying.

They are great! They have cared for our cats for over twenty years and we have always been pleased with their care and knowledge.
