I was very disappointed in the quality of work, amount of time the work took and the communication with AB/JDD plumbing. I had two drains that needed to be cleaned and wanted a bathtub drain replaced (it was old and leaked). When I called AB/JDD to discuss, I was told that this work should be done in two hours. It ended up taking four trips and considerably more expense than I expected, based on my initial call with them. The two drains (bathroom sink and shower) were supposedly cleared the first trip. But when I tried the bathroom sink less than a week later it was still blocked. They did come out on the fourth trip and fixed that. The biggest complaint that I had was in replacing the bathtub drain. They were unable to get it out by turning it out. The technician told me he would have to cut it out with a dremel. He assured me that he had done this before and would not damage the porcelain. Unfortunately he did damage the porcelain around the drain - it was significant in my opinion. He did say that he and the company later said that they would fix it. But they later admitted that they really were not good at doing that type of repair and touch up. I decided to try to fix it myself later rather than having them make it worse. In my opinion the first two technicians were not careful. For example, I noticed one of them putting a heavy wrenches on the tub porcelain even though I had put towels in the bathroom for them to use. When I pointed this out to him, he apologized and put the wrench on a towel but he never should have done it to begin with. There were complications with the tub drain that required a third trip. I was told by the technician on the second trip that the total cost for EVERYTHING (after the third trip) would be $750. Unfortunately after the third trip, I was billed $881. I was not given an adequate explanation. On top of that I was not called to schedule that third trip (when the overflow drain was replaced). The work crew just showed up. Fortunately I was home at the time. When I called about the stopped drain a fourth trip was scheduled. This technician was polite and careful and fixed the problem. There were other communication problems where the scheduler was calling a different person thinking it was me. I was very disappointed with AB/JDD. It was one of the worst experiences I ever had with a contractor.

This company is treating its employees so badly one employee came out and badgered me into using their own services rather than the company's services. A new owner bought the company in 2019 and ever since then the company has been messed up. No one supervises employees anymore. The owner delegates everyone to an operations manager and does not respond to complaints himself. In 2014, the original owner came out to do repairs in my house. Then an Australian bought the company who came out in person to give me a bid on fixing my hot water heater. Now an employee shows up and presents no business card and badgers people into using their services instead of the company services. When I did them a favor and reported this, they just blamed me for using said employees services. You should not have used the employee's service they belligerently stated. THEN THEY CLAIMED THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF SAID EMPLOYEE. Employee did not even present a business card and no one ever calls to see how the work went or come out and review the employee's work. This place really sucks.
