Have not been shopping at Safeway as much as I used to. I was over-charged at several different stores, one for almost $7.00 on the 6th day of a sale. of BOGO ice cream. I am upset with both Lucky Stores and Safeway putting so many of their sale items purchases on "digital" so many of us seniors have to pay regular prices if we want that item. Safeway is also gotten very expensive. I now go to Costco and Trader Joe's for most of my purchases. Other items can also be purchased at Smart & Final.

Recent experience at Safeway, Fremont Hub: I went there to purchase some unsalted pistachios and a few other things that were easily located. Did not see an area in the produce department like I often do in other stores where they were located. There was an employee nearby named Wendy who I asked where they were located, explaining that my neuropathy was acting up and I just need to go where they were located. Her response was that they were all over the produce department and the store so I should just go and look for them. So, I went to the front of the store and asked a cashier to speak to the manager. I saw her call and I found a chair nearby to sit to relieve my neuropathy pain in my feet till the manager arrived. I waited around 15 minutes and no one showed up. So, I asked her again. Her reply: I talked to a manager and they are all in a meeting. So I placed my basket on the floor in front of the cashier, left to go to Lucky where I immediately found a full display of various pistachios, arranged by type, and got them and other items without issue. So much for any customer service at Safeway! To paraphrase Steven Covey who wrote "7 Habits of Highly Effective People": Customers are volunteers. You need to treat them like volunteers as that is what they actually are. They volunteer to do business with you. If you do not, they will take their business to someone else that does.
