My 20 year old built in has occasional issues, especially with its damper. I was out of warranty and afraid what it would cost to fix it. The tech was spot on diagnosing the issue and replaced the part at a cost that was much lower than expected. I have used extended warranties in the past, but those techs tend to be in a rush and not always fixing the problem the first time. GE techs seem to be more knowledgeable or at least less hurried, so the issues gets fixed right the first time. Either you pay once for the fix, or you pay a yearly charge to cover multiple appointments before it is fixed.

Professional and trusted but eventually had to buy a new appliance.

Our issues ended up being warranty, which was good. But it took 6 weeks of no fridge to get there.
