As for care: one time I found my family member on the floor of the room when I arrived (due to a fall, which no one knew about), and another time I arrived for a visit in the evening to find my family member drugged and dopey with about 4 staff standing around the bed. I learned that my family member had been taken to the hospital earlier in the day (and was now looking like a zombie from the drugs...couldn't even recognize or acknowledge me)-- and no one had ever contacted me. Quite a surprise, because they had been calling me almost daily prior to that due to behavior issues with my family member, and were always able to reach me, since I work from home and am by the phone all day.
Bottom line: don't trust them. Hold on to your wallet and keep walking past the lovely gardens and clean lobby.
