Mixed feelings: (by the way there are different "wealth mgt" groups within the Morgan Stanley office on Harrison St Oakland). If your net assets under management are impressive, then the service and attention are quite good and the advisors will reach out periodically to review allocations and plans. For those at the lower end, you cannot expect much - and perhaps be disappointed by decline in value even when the overall market is rising (comparing self-managed with a managed account). The result is that a person might not feel confident moving all or most assets into their care if the initial period only matched what a person can achieve independently. Additionally, these groups are not Fiduciaries, so while they will want to do well for you, they are not bound by a more stringent code of ethics. So.. I recommend with that caveat.
