S & G Carpets' sales personnel was excellent. However, this business utilizes company "certified" installers, not direct employees of the company. The certified installer assigned to my carpet installation (for 2 days) brought 2 completely unqualified workers with him, which resulted in a poor quality installation--strings hanging from the carpet, lines in the carpet where pieces were not melded together, uneven carpet folds on the stairs, a couple of footprints on the carpet from the workers, marks on the walls (which can be expected to some degree), the result of rushed work with only 1 person qualified to complete the job. The installer forgot to bring his vacuum cleaner, had to use mine, and asked if I wanted all of closet floors carpeted, which was included in the bid. The regional customer service manager had to inspect the installation, took lots of photos, and rescheduled a remediation installation to correct the deficiencies. This manager, who was very responsive, attended the installation to check the work. While corrections were made, except for the footprints, as a customer I am left with the feeling that the installation was substandard. In the future, I would use carpet companies that have direct employees.

This was the third carpet installation by S&G and we would use them again.

I'd contacted Costco Livermore for their Carpet Services, and they had S & G contact me. Their rep emailed me, got a good sense of what I wanted, then came to the house ( ON TIME ) with samples, helped us pick the one. Their installers came out on the appointed day and did a great job installing. Very easy, very professional.
