We noticed a 6" diameter damp spot in the ceiling between storms, and needed quick help. Our homeowners insurance agent recommended this company. They came out quickly and found the source of the roof leak. They recommended installing a large dehumidifier in the hall under the damp ceiling, which we did. The next day, a supervisor came out unexpectedly to check things out and recommended removing the dehumidifier the next day. He said they would need to send two people because of the difficult access to the attic. The next day two people came, but only one did the work. They insisted that cleaning up the very small amount of insulation that dropped down was their job, even though I said we could do that. Then the bill came and we were charged for the extra person, the supervisor visit and the clean up. The detail on the bill described a much larger area than was affected. They also billed more hours than they spent, and double-billed some items. Total came to over $1,200.

I discussed this with our insurance estimator and he said the price was ridiculously outrageous. Unfortunately our deductible was too high for insurance to be involved directly. I was able to negotiate a lower amount, but did not feel that they operated in good faith.

Servicemaster Restoration does't actually repair roofs, but recommended Premier Construction Services (the company next door to them owned by the same ServiceMaster franchise owner) to do the repair. Premier came out and tarped the roof ($550), but they don't actually repair roofs. We finally found an excellent roofer to repair the roof (Pacific Shingling) at $388.
