Perfect Star did an annual maintenance on my 21 year old Trane HVAC system. They showed me a frayed wire and told me it could not be fixed as it was too short. They then quoted me $25,000 for a Lenox system. I was in shock. I selected John of High Performance based on the reviews on Checkbook. I had a great conversation with him. I forwarded the photos Perfect Star had taken and he told me the wire and the capacitor could be replaced. He was booked out for a week and while I had to wait I asked for a recommendation for a reputable company who could give me a quote for a new system. He recommended Tri-City. Try-City came out promptly and their quote for a new Trane system was $16,900. David, the technician was very honest and pleasurable. After he looked at the AC for the quote he told me there was plenty of wire to work with and he had the parts on the truck and could fix it for $300. It took him about 15 minutes. He took photos and let me see the old capacitor which was melted in an area as the wires had not been tightly secured. I will add that Freshi installed the system and they replaced the capacitor 7 years ago so obviously did a terribly job. I loved John's response when I texted to cancel my service appointment and thanked him for recommending Tri-City. Here is what he texted "Remember Perfect Star said the world was ending.....John said it wasn't.....and David fixed it." :-)

Jonathon Young (owner/tech) is the most expert technician I've ever worked with. He is the only one out of four HVAC companies that could diagnose the problem quickly and most importantly provide a solution .
