I came to this bank to refinance because when it was Glen Ellyn Bank, it received excellent ratings. It was in the midst of a takeover and it was difficult to get just basic services, like a working telephone number, email address or even a place to meet with the lender, Dave Johnson. I gave him everything he asked for in as timely a manner as possible given the chaotic communications at the time. Unfortunately, after doing all that work, he called me at the lat minute to say he just found out that I don't qualify to refinance. He said it is a new government policy, but I looked into this and this policy had existed for months, and he apparently didn't know about it. Now, I don't even know whether to trust anything he said, and wasted time I could have spent working with someone else. Maybe things are different now that Wintrust has completed the takeover, but maybe not. If you have time and energy to waste, it may be ok. I resented the sloppy work.
